Under the Orange Trees is the follow up to Akin Yilmaz's debut novel, The Olive Trees, and is set in his father's village in Cyprus during the late 1950s. It follows an archaeologist in his quest to find Roman treasure whilst he gets caught up in the troubles of the Cyprus Emergency, finding love and death.
Akin Yilmaz was born in Tottenham, North London to Parents who emigrated from Cyprus in the 1960s. He trained as an accountant after leaving school and has a masters degree in Psychology. He is married to Binnur and they have 3 children. He is the author of The Olive Trees (2021) and Under the Orange Trees (2023).
